What I do…

As a natural medicine practitioner, I help people identify and treat underlying causes of health challenges by utilising the philosophy and practise of naturopathy (nature cure) and epigenetic hair mapping technology.

I take a less is more approach and rarely prescribe more than three quality products at a time, sometimes less. These are often food or herbal based and of a high quality.

Eating well is the pathway to successful health outcomes, so I work closely with clients in a realistic and achievable way to create healthful habits that will last a lifetime.

With a background in energy healing, I also bring an understanding of vibrational medicine and metaphysics into sessions if appropriate.

These skills complement my qualifications and experience to provide a truly holistic and supportive service.

I look forward to meeting you soon,

Helen

Why use me?

Qualifications and Experience

As a qualified Naturopath, I’m registered with the ATMS (Australian Traditional Medicine Society) and have been since 2005.

Additional training includes Chiron healing and the BodyTalk technique, which are both vibrational healing modalities.

I’ve been in private practise and running classes and courses in Melbourne and the UK since 2001.

The topics covered have been wide ranging and include cooking and nutrition, detoxification, meditation and the path of the highly sensitive person.

As the creator of the popular Urban Detox Programme, I brought city dwellers back to nature and good health via a six week course of natural therapies, remedies and food.

When I arrived in Melbourne, I was invited as a regular feature writer for the Australian Natural Health Magazine and assisted wholefood chef Tony Chiodo, with whole food cooking classes and the creation of his cookbook “Feel Good Food”.

Its an adjunct to private practise, I have run cooking classes for children and adults on specialist diets and worked as a private cook in Melbourne for families navigating health crisis.

I have also presented as a nutrition lecturer within the hospitality sector, educating chefs about specialist dietary needs and introducing them to whole foods and kitchen garden philosophy.

The corporate world have also brought me in to present on natural health topics such as stress, depression and fatigue.

After my son was born with Down syndrome, I created a website that provided free natural health information for families who have children with trisomy 21.

I also set up and ran a private online cookery club for parents who have children with disabilities, in particular Down syndrome, for nearly six years.

Today I have a book in the cerebral pipeline and enjoy consulting with clients and in my spare time growing my own food.

And lastly about my son

My son is the person who has solidified my belief in the powerful benefits of good food and natural medicine.

Ollie was born with Down Syndrome, an extra chromosome that creates a complex biochemistry and potential for a lot of additional health challenges.

My boy is nearly thirteen years old and is bright, alert and glowing with health. I honestly feel that this has much to do with what he eats, what I ate during my pregnancy and more importantly what we don’t eat.

Ollie has also been treated with natural medicines and therapies since he was born and is familiar with the kinesiologist and osteopaths couch, herbs, homeopathic remedies and targeted nutrigenomics supplement blends.

Food and eating has proven problematic for him, as is the case for many children. It’s not been easy to feed this cheeky chap. We’ve walked a long road of food aversion and sensory feeding issues, which we are still tackling today.

I’ve always loved cooking but never envisaged how much time I would spend in the kitchen, adapting and creating nourishing snacks and meals that he will eat. I’ve been asked to write a book on this subject several times, so it is on the to do list!

When I look at how comfortable Ollie is in his healthy body and how I’m assisting him to  build a strong physical foundation for the rest of his life, I know that the natural road, which isn’t always easy or straight forward, is most definitely worth the effort.

I look forward to connecting and assisting you and your family towards your food and health goals.

Helen
