“cheesy” seed crackers
These seedy, cheesy crackers are quick and easy to make once you have all the ingredients and taste amazing with dips and cheese.
There are no nuts in the recipe, so they are suitable for school lunchboxes.
If your child is fussy on texture, you can grind the seeds before mixing them with water for a less challenging cracker.
Ingredients
1/4 cup chia seeds
1/2 cup pumpkin seeds
1/2 cup hemp hearts
1/2 cup sesame seeds
1 tbs garlic powder
1 tsp smoked paprika
4 tbs nutritional yeast
1 cup water
1/4 – 1/2 tsp sea salt
Method
Preheat your oven to 300°F.
Mix all the ingredients together except the water and salt in a large bowl.
Add water and mix until everything is coated. Let sit for five minutes to allow the chia seeds to absorb the water.
Spread the mixture onto a silicone baking sheet or into a lined 9 x 9 pan. Make sure you spread/press down evenly and there are no gaps in the mixture.
Sprinkle salt over the spread.
Bake in oven for 32 minutes. Remove from oven, cut into crackers and flip them on the sheet. Bake for another 20-22 minutes watching closely the last few minutes so they don’t burn.
Let the crackers cool on the baking sheet for ten minutes before removing.
